Event Description

In an era shaped by rapid technological innovation and global interconnectedness, traditional notions of literacy are being reimagined. VirtuaTELL2025 invites you to explore what it means to be literate in a world where AI, digital media, and transnational flows of knowledge are transforming how we read, write, communicate, and learn.

Inspired by Paulo Freire’s (1983) powerful call to “read the word and read the world,” we place multilingual learners and human-centered approaches at the heart of our inquiry. We ask questions such as; What does literacy look like when it encompasses not only language, but also AI, media, and digital tools?; How can TESOL professionals support learners in engaging with the technologies and discourses that shape their identities and futures?

Join us as we rethink literacy that is both technologically advanced and deeply human!
