Event Description

Thriving beyond the pandemic: Focusing on impactful digital learning experiences

Emerging triumphantly from the pandemic, we are ready to embrace new landscapes of education and reimagine and redesign teaching for student success. We dedicate ALWC 2023 to sharing how we have been growing and thriving beyond the pandemic, with a specific focus on impactful digital teaching/learning experiences. Additionally, we encourage you to fundamentally rethink your approaches to supporting multilingual learners as stakeholders in your school/university communities. Topics include but not limited to:

  • Transformative methods of teaching and new emerging learning styles (usage of digital curriculum, digital books instead of regular library, submission of assignments in a digital manner for students)

  • Lessons and insights learned from the pandemic school years

  • Strategies to cope with the challenges brought by the pandemic

  • Nurturing social/emotional interaction, skills of social behaviors/social emotional support for both students and educators

  • Effective models to accelerate instruction and mitigate instructional loss

  • Reconstruction of new norms of behaviors

  • Welcoming expanding our paradigm beyond TESOL by seeking interdisciplinary collaborations
